The city confirmed that a total of 58 residents from 21 households, including three households affected by the power outage, had moved in.
The city quickly secured emergency accommodations to ensure that residents who could no longer live in their homes due to the fire and power outage would not experience further discomfort. It distributed emergency relief kits and individual aid kits to each household. These kits contained daily necessities, hygiene products, blankets, and other essential items needed for urgent living situations, as well as food supplies to ensure that residents could begin their daily lives as soon as they moved in.
Mayor Pa visited the site immediately on the day of the fire to assess the damage and stayed at the scene until the last affected resident entered the temporary housing at 11 p.m., personally checking on the difficulties faced by each resident. The following day, after completing his scheduled community visits, he again visited the fire scene and the temporary accommodations, inspecting the condition of the lodgings and listening to the concerns of each household, continuing his hands-on approach.
Paju City plans to go beyond emergency relief and will actively pursue mid- and long-term housing stability measures. The city has signed an agreement with LH to provide emergency housing support for households affected by the fire. The support is intended for the 22 households that suffered damage on the 10th floor or higher, and the city plans to facilitate swift move-ins to public rental housing and other accommodations, enabling residents who cannot return to their homes for an extended period to live stably.
One displaced resident commented, "The sudden fire left me feeling hopeless, but the city quickly provided temporary housing and even supplied emergency relief goods and food, which was a huge help."
Mayor Pa stated, "We will stand by our citizens who are facing significant hardship due to this unexpected fire until they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible," adding, "We will do our utmost not only to support the recovery but also to establish measures to prevent a recurrence."
