Gyeonggi Fire Academy Holds Entrance Ceremony for New Firefighters on July 8... 24-Week Training Program
The Gyeonggi Fire Academy held an entrance ceremony for new firefighters on July 8. This year, a total of 402 new trainees—305 men and 97 women—will participate in the program.
Until December, the trainees will undergo a 24-week course covering basic skills, job-related expertise, and both theoretical and practical training required for disaster response, including fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services. The training program is structured to combine classroom learning and hands-on exercises, emphasizing on-site response capabilities, public service values, and decision-making skills.
After completing the program, the trainees will be assigned to fire stations throughout the province, where they will serve as firefighters responsible for protecting the lives and property of Gyeonggi residents across various disaster sites, including fires, rescues, and emergency medical situations.
