This seminar was organized to provide information and support the use of institutional measures for the non-ferrous metal industry, following a similar event for the plastics industry in April.
Although the situation in the Middle East has recently stabilized, the prices of major non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum are expected to remain volatile. This seminar aimed to explore ways for small and medium-sized enterprises utilizing non-ferrous metals, which often lack the capacity to respond effectively, to make use of institutional measures.
In the first lecture, Choi Jin-young, Senior Researcher at Daishin Securities, explained the supply and demand status of major non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum, recent factors influencing price fluctuations, and the market outlook.
Next, Lee Seung-ryul, Team Leader at Korea Price Information, introduced the supply price indexation system, the price adjustment system, and the supply price adjustment consultation system as measures to address cost fluctuation risks, along with key considerations when concluding contracts.

Yang Chanhoe, Executive Director of the Korea Federation of SMEs, stated, "Although the situation in the Middle East has somewhat stabilized, the prices of major non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum are likely to remain volatile due to structural supply shortages. We will continue to provide timely market outlooks and actively support the use of risk-sharing systems such as the supply price indexation system, so that small and medium-sized enterprises can effectively respond to cost fluctuation risks."
