"Tetoman" Disappearing, "Egenman" on the Rise... Men's Hormone Levels Halved Over 50 Years
Researchers Find Average Levels Dropped by 54% from 1972 to 2019
The widespread perception that so-called "Tetoman" (Testosterone + man), characterized by strong masculinity, is decreasing while the number of "Egenman" (Estrogen + man), who are considered to have softer dispositions, is increasing, has now been scientifically proven. A large-scale international joint study has revealed that the average testosterone levels among men have plummeted to less than half over the past 50 years, placing male reproductive ability and overall metabolic health in a grave existential crisis.

The researchers reported that the average testosterone levels in men dropped by 54% between 1972 and 2019. This study analyzed data from 118,593 men from Israel, the United States, Brazil, Finland, and Denmark.
Testosterone is not simply a hormone involved in sexual function. It is a fundamental axis not only in sperm production and libido regulation but also in maintaining muscle mass, strengthening bone density, activating metabolism, and significantly influencing overall mental health, including mood and energy levels.
Decreasing by More Than 1% Per Year... Multiple Causes Such as Obesity, Diabetes, Endocrine Disruptors, and Global Warming
Professor Hagai Levine of the Hebrew University of Israel, who participated in the study, pointed out, "There is a major crisis in male reproductive health, with testosterone levels dropping by more than 50%, yet it is not receiving enough attention." Professor Levine emphasized, "This study found that testosterone levels decreased by more than 1% every year," adding, "This is not a coincidence or a statistical error, but a very powerful trend."
The research team analyzed that the rapid decline in testosterone was caused by increasing rates of obesity and diabetes. In addition, they argued that environmental factors such as endocrine-disrupting chemicals found in various household products, as well as global warming, may also have contributed to the decrease in testosterone levels.

"Concerns Over Increasing Testosterone Supplement Advertisements"
As awareness spreads that men's testosterone levels are declining, some are expressing concerns about the increase in advertisements for testosterone supplements on social media and other platforms. Professor Allan Pacey, an andrology expert at the University of Manchester in the UK, warned, "The solutions advertised involve administering testosterone, but when testosterone is administered to men, sperm production can stop. I have seen such cases in hospitals."
