CAS Expands Into Torque and Pressure Sensor Business...Aiming to Become a Comprehensive Precision Weighing and Measurement Company
Development of Master Load Cells, Non-Contact Torque Sensors, and UHP Pressure Sensors
Expanding Applications in Advanced Industrial Sectors
CAS, a comprehensive precision weighing and measurement solution provider, is making a full-fledged entry into the advanced industrial sensor market, leveraging its unrivaled technological expertise accumulated in the field of weight measurement. CAS announced that it is expanding its industrial sensor business portfolio in all directions by unveiling a series of new products, including ultra-precision master load cells, non-contact torque sensors, and ultra-high purity (UHP) pressure sensors, targeting future core industries such as electric vehicles, robotics, and semiconductors.
In particular, CAS's newly developed master load cell serves as a reference device for verifying and calibrating the accuracy of weighing equipment and testing machines, and is considered a key product in the field of ultra-precision load measurement. The product achieves a precision level equivalent to Class 0.5 according to ISO 376 standards, ensuring stable measurement performance even in high-load environments, and supports various output types including bridge and digital formats.
ISO 376 is an international standard for evaluating the performance of master load cells and is categorized into grades 00, 0.5, 1, 2, and 3. The lower the number, the higher the precision, and Class 0.5 is a high-precision specification widely used in the calibration of testing machines and in precision research. It is utilized in industrial sites where high accuracy is required, such as in automotive, semiconductor and electronics, steel and metal, plant, power and energy, and testing and research institutions.
As automation and quality control standards in manufacturing have recently risen, the importance of precise calibration for production and testing equipment has grown as well. In industries such as electric vehicles, semiconductors, and aerospace, where the margin of error is extremely small, the reliability of measurement equipment is directly linked to product quality. As a result, demand for high-precision calibration equipment that meets international standards continues to increase.
CAS also offers custom manufacturing services for master load cells to accommodate various industrial environments. The company explained that it can design and manufacture product specifications to meet the usage conditions of customers in fields such as oil and gas plants, automation and robotics, and manufacturing and production sites.
The flagship product, "ZSSMD-100T," is a 100-ton class high-resolution master load cell developed for equipment calibration. It utilizes a steel canister structure to enhance electrical durability and supports both tension and compression measurements. In addition, the application of an internal protection circuit minimizes external electrical influences such as noise, surge, and lightning.
The non-contact rotary torque sensor is a device that measures rotational force in motors and reducers. By employing a design free of friction and wear, durability is enhanced. It can provide stable measurement data even in high-speed rotation environments of up to 10,000 RPM, making it highly suitable for use in automotive research and development (R&D), robotics, and generator testing. Furthermore, user convenience has been improved by providing a 3-in-1 smart indicator that displays torque, RPM, and output simultaneously, along with dedicated PC-based analysis software.
The UHP pressure sensor for semiconductor equipment is designed for ultra-clean process environments by minimizing dead volume and using corrosion-resistant materials. It supports precise pressure control in etching and deposition (CVD and ALD) processes and is expected to contribute to the localization of high-end pressure sensors, which have so far relied heavily on imported products.
