'Gyeonggi Office of Education Returns to the People'... Entry Control System Removed from Basement 3 to First Floor
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will dismantle the "automatic entry control system (speed gate)" inside its Suwon Gwanggyo building.
On July 8, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced that it would carry out a complete removal of the speed gate at the Southern Office Building. This move reflects the on-site, communication-centered approach of the sixth popularly elected administration and aims to bring the office closer to the educational field.
The removal targets all speed gates installed from the third basement floor to the first ground floor of the Southern Office Building.
This measure was implemented as part of efforts to improve the access control system, with the goal of increasing accessibility for educational community members and civil petitioners visiting the office and creating a more open building environment.
At the dismantling ceremony held at the Southern Office Building, Superintendent An Minseok stated, "The Office of Education will now be an open space where anyone can enter comfortably," and added, "We have chosen openness over a closed or restrictive office."

The ceremony was attended by three teachers' organizations, including the Gyeonggi Teachers' Association, the Gyeonggi Teachers’ Union, and the Gyeonggi Branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union, as well as the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Workplace Council and the Neulpum Parents’ Association.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education expects that dismantling the speed gate will improve the access procedure for visitors, mark the first step toward an open superintendent's office, and contribute to the realization of open administration.
