The event will feature a pre-ceremony performance, a progress report, commemorative speeches, and congratulatory remarks. In addition, the "Dalha Music Garden Song Concert," featuring Jeongeup City’s honorary ambassador Park Changgeun, will be held as a celebratory performance. The exhibition hall will officially open to the public the following day, July 18.
A total of 2 billion won (1 billion won from provincial funds and 1 billion won from city funds) was invested in the remodeling of the exhibition hall. The new facility is composed of two themed areas.
The "Jeongeupsa" exhibition room introduces the history and significance of Jeongeupsa, the only surviving Baekje-era song, as well as Sujecheon, which inherited Jeongeupsa as a royal court instrumental piece.
The "Dalha Music Hall" exhibition room presents the evolution and development of Korean popular music across different eras through a variety of displays.
Notably, the exhibition has expanded interactive displays where visitors can participate directly, making it easy and engaging to understand the historical background of Jeongeupsa and the progression of Korean music. The hydrangea garden surrounding the exhibition hall is also expected to be a summer highlight. The garden, filled with colorful hydrangeas in full bloom, offers a space for visitors to stroll and take photos after viewing the exhibits, providing an additional source of enjoyment.
Korea Kayochon Dalha has established itself as a major cultural tourism destination in Jeongeup by hosting exhibitions, performances, and hands-on programs themed around the Baekje song Jeongeupsa. With this renovation, the venue aims to further strengthen its historical and cultural content, attracting more family visitors and long-stay tourists.
