Order by 8 p.m. for 2-Hour Delivery... SSG.com Expands Service
Pilot Program at Emart Yangjae and Hanam Stores
Expansion to Over 50 Locations Nationwide by Year-End
Maintaining Freshness with Dedicated Thermal Pouches
SSG.com announced on July 8 that it will begin a pilot program from July 9, offering a service that allows customers in the areas near Emart Yangjae and Hanam stores to receive their orders within two hours of purchase.
The key feature of this service revamp is the implementation of a system that completes deliveries within two hours of the order time for any orders placed by 8 p.m. on the same day, enhancing the convenience of online grocery shopping.
When customers in eligible areas access the SSG.com app, a message stating "Delivery available within 2 hours" will automatically appear on the main screen and order form. Customers can also continue to use the existing scheduled delivery service, which allows them to select a specific date and time for their delivery.
Refrigerated and frozen foods are packaged in dedicated thermal pouches and shipped immediately from Emart stores to prevent any loss of freshness during the distribution process. The threshold for free delivery remains unchanged at orders of 40,000 won or more, and members of the SSG Seven Club can earn 7% of their SSG delivery (daytime, dawn, and Traders) purchase amount as SSG Money.
Starting with the pilot at Emart Yangjae and Hanam stores in July, SSG.com will expand the service area to major locations in Seoul, such as Wolgye, Garden5, and Sindorim stores, in August. From September, the service will be rolled out nationwide, with plans to cover around 50 Emart stores by the end of the year.
Through this revamp, SSG.com aims to strengthen its integrated online-offline delivery network to meet the diversified grocery shopping needs of consumers, including 'SSG Delivery' for daytime, evening, and dawn deliveries, 'Traders Delivery' for bulk items, 'BaroQuick' for instant one-hour delivery of small items, and 'Star Delivery' with guaranteed arrival.
