Lego Unveils World Cup Trophy Built with Over 1 Million Bricks
Exhibited at Rockefeller Plaza in New York
On Display Until the World Cup Final on July 19
With the 2026 North and Central America World Cup finals in full swing, Lego has attracted attention by unveiling a World Cup trophy built from over 1 million Lego bricks.
On July 6 (local time), Lego unveiled its World Cup trophy, constructed from its own products, at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, USA. The trophy stands 8.2 meters tall and weighs 4 tons.
According to Lego, a total of 1.36 million Lego bricks were used in the making of the trophy, and 56 people spent 7,000 hours assembling it by hand. The unveiling event featured Cafu, the legendary Brazilian footballer. After placing the final piece of the Lego trophy, Cafu posed for commemorative photos with young football fans.
The Lego World Cup trophy will be on display until July 19, the date of the World Cup final match.
Lego has frequently held events recreating world-renowned buildings or monuments with its bricks. A notable example is Spain's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, which is nearing completion 144 years after construction began.
