Ki-Tae Lee, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, declared his candidacy for the Supreme Council member position at the August 17 National Party Convention, stating, "From being a shield for Lee Jae-myung, I will now become the front-line striker who vigorously secures the success of state affairs and the re-election of our government."
Known as the "Daejang-dong Attorney," Assemblyman Lee said during a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Hall on this day, "I will become the most reliable direct channel that seamlessly connects the party, the government, and the Blue House."

Although he effectively criticized former Democratic Party leader Cheong-Rae Jeong, he did not mention any specific names, saying, "Even though the President's approval ratings remain high, why did we have to accept such devastating results in the Seoul mayoral race and elsewhere? It was because, driven by personal political ambition, we failed to properly support President Lee Jae-myung and ended up out of sync with him."
As his pledges for the Supreme Council, Assemblyman Lee promised to: ▲ establish a thorough "party-government-Blue House one team" system ▲ complete judicial and prosecutorial reforms ▲ transform the Democratic Party into a "competent, livelihood-focused party" and innovate it into a "structural majority party" ▲ introduce an AI-based "deliberative party member sovereignty system" before major party policy decisions, building a "party where members' voices directly shape decisions."
