S-Oil Unveils AI Short-Form Content Showcasing 50 Years of Growth
Released on Official Channels Including Instagram and YouTube
Showcasing Future Visions Such as the Shaheen Project
S-Oil has introduced social media content utilizing generative artificial intelligence (AI) to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
S-Oil announced on July 7 that it has produced short-form videos and released them through its official social media channels on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
This content was designed to reflect on the company's growth and innovation over the past 50 years since its founding in 1976, and to communicate its future growth engine, the Shaheen Project, and its sustainable future vision in a more approachable way. In particular, AI-based videos and images were used to ensure that users familiar with the digital environment can easily and engagingly relate to the content.
The video was produced under the theme "50 Years of Time, Connecting to Tomorrow." It highlighted key milestones from the past five decades, including achieving world-class refining competitiveness as a single-site refinery, expanding into advanced and petrochemical businesses, and strengthening competitiveness in the lubricants sector. The Shaheen Project, the largest petrochemical initiative in the history of the Korean industry, and the company's future growth vision were depicted through symbolic scenes.
S-Oil explained that "S-Oil 50th Anniversary: The Start of an Even More Amazing Tomorrow," which was released on YouTube in April, has recorded approximately 53,000 views.
S-Oil has also been using its digital persona, Sojiseong, as the narrator for various ESG activities, including hero campaigns highlighting firefighters and maritime police, as well as protection efforts for red-crowned cranes and Korean perch, to deliver friendly and multidimensional storytelling. Thanks to these content strategies, the total number of followers on S-Oil's official social media channels has increased by about 33% over the past two years, reaching a total of 290,000 followers as of now.
