This Summer, I’m Going on a Science Date... National Busan Science Museum Launches Summer Vacation Education Program
103 Programs Including AI and Forensic Science
How about going on an exciting science date this summer?
To celebrate the summer break, the National Busan Science Museum has prepared education programs where participants can experience the latest scientific technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), forensic science, and virtual reality (VR).
The National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong) announced on July 7 that it will operate the "2026 Summer Semester Education Program" from July 25 to August 28, open to children from preschoolers to middle school students.
This year's program consists of a total of 103 courses, and registration begins on July 8. In 2026, the museum has significantly expanded new programs to foster problem-solving skills and self-directed inquiry capabilities needed in the AI era.
The "SCI Detective Lab," designed for third- and fourth-grade elementary school students, operates as a program where participants solve cases using scientific investigation techniques such as bloodstain analysis, document examination, chromatography, and pH analysis.
The "Physical AI Project," open to fourth graders and above, is a program where participants perform Mars exploration missions using various sensors and robots, allowing them to experience both artificial intelligence and robotics.
In addition, new programs that combine everyday life with future technologies are being introduced, such as "Building a VR Science Museum with My Own Hands," "Everyday Safety Maker," "Maker Project: 3D Engineering," and "Veterinary Science Exploration Classroom."
The courses are divided into Experimental Exploration Class, AI Classroom, Creative Maker Class, and Thematic Exploration Class, allowing participants to choose programs that match their interests.
Participants who complete all four consecutive days of courses will receive a certificate of completion in the name of the Director of the National Busan Science Museum, as well as vouchers for the permanent exhibition hall and daytime observatory program.
Registration can be made through the National Busan Science Museum website. Applications open sequentially on July 8, starting at 2:00 p.m. for programs for 7-year-olds, 3:00 p.m. for first and second graders, and 4:00 p.m. for third graders and above.
