LG and KOSCOM Unveil AI Service to Forecast Korean Stock Market
EXAONE BI-Based Service Integrates Korean Financial Market Data
AI Agents Analyze 2,500 Stocks Listed on the Korean Exchange
Provides Commentary with Insights Comparable to Financial Experts
LG AI Research Institute is introducing an artificial intelligence (AI) service in collaboration with KOSCOM to forecast the Korean stock market.
On July 7, LG AI Research Institute and KOSCOM held a signing ceremony for a "Strategic Business Agreement for Providing AI-Based Korean Financial Data Analysis Services" at KOSCOM's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by KOSCOM's CEO Yoon Changhyun, Executive Vice President Lee Changjin, as well as LG AI Research Institute's Co-Director Lim Woohyung and Head of Business Development Lee Hwayoung, among other executives from both organizations.
KOSCOM is a financial IT company specializing in IT infrastructure for the Korean capital market. It collects and processes transaction data generated in capital markets, providing market information and services required by financial institutions. The two companies will combine KOSCOM's financial data with the AI predictive technology of LG AI Research Institute, which has been recognized in global financial markets, to build an AI prediction and analysis service specialized for the Korean stock market through the financial AI agent "EXAONE Business Intelligence (EXAONE BI)."
EXAONE BI, developed by LG AI Research Institute, is a finance-specialized AI platform where multiple AI agents collaborate to perform data analysis, inference, prediction, and explanation generation, supporting complex business decision-making. LG AI Research Institute has accumulated successful use cases of its AI prediction technology in various areas such as lithium price forecasting, demand prediction, and AI ETFs.
The AEFS (AI-Powered Equity Forecast Score), developed based on EXAONE BI, is a data product that predicts the stock price trend of individual stocks for the next four weeks and provides the rationale behind each prediction in the form of commentary. AEFS analyzes approximately 8,000 stocks listed on the Korean and U.S. stock markets every day, offering prediction scores and commentary-level analyses equivalent to those of financial experts for each stock. Rather than merely forecasting stock price trends, it also presents the reasoning behind the AI's conclusions, thereby supporting data-driven decision-making for investors.
This year, as the Korean stock market's upward momentum has become more pronounced, interest in data related to Korean listed companies has increased, especially among overseas financial companies and institutional investors. At the same time, with the expansion of financial market volatility, demand for AI-based predictive and analytical information has also been rising. LG AI Research Institute previously launched a global service in partnership with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) to forecast and analyze U.S.-listed stocks with AI.
KOSCOM provides financial data necessary for analyzing the Korean stock market, including domestic stock trading data, company disclosures, and macroeconomic indicators. LG AI Research Institute has optimized EXAONE BI’s time-series forecasting and data analysis capabilities for the Korean market environment based on this data.
The two companies plan to provide AI prediction and analysis services specialized for the Korean stock market to both domestic and international customers by leveraging KOSCOM's domestic client base and LSEG's global distribution channels. Additionally, to minimize hallucinations that may occur in the AI’s analysis and explanation generation process, they will continuously evaluate the appropriateness of the rationale used for scoring and the informational completeness of the commentaries to manage service quality.
Yoon Changhyun, CEO of KOSCOM, stated, "In the era of AI, the combination of reliable financial data and AI technology is more important than ever. Based on KOSCOM's financial data expertise and LG AI Research Institute's technological capabilities, we will provide differentiated financial information services and, starting with this service, introduce a variety of products to lead AI transformation in the financial market."

Lim Woohyung, Co-Director of LG AI Research Institute, commented, "In the stock market, the ability of AI to explain the reasons behind its predictions is just as important as the accuracy of the predictions themselves. Leveraging LG's AI technology, we aim to provide reliable information to institutional and individual investors both domestically and abroad, and contribute to innovation in AI services for the financial sector."
