Maston Investment Management announced on July 7 that it held a talent donation special lecture for students of the Sungkyunkwan University Real Estate Finance Society (SRF), focusing on topics such as safety management in real estate asset management, the alternative investment industry from the perspective of an accountant, and the social responsibility of asset management companies.
The lecture took place at Maston Investment Management's headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, under the theme "A New Standard in Real Estate Finance: Designing Value Beyond Investment." This event was part of a talent donation program connected to the company's core business, organized by the Center for Positive Impact under the Social Contribution Promotion Team. View original imageThe first speaker, Cho Guimoon, Director of Safety and Health Management at Maston Investment Management's RM Division, gave a presentation titled "Safety Risk Management in Real Estate Asset Management: Field Stories from the Perspectives of PM (Property Management) and FM (Facility Management)." He discussed the types of safety accidents that can actually occur on site and provided case-based insights on inspection systems and crisis response know-how for prevention.
The second speaker, Kwon Seongryul, Deputy Head of Investment 2 Team, Investment 2 Division, Domestic Investment Division at Maston Investment Management, gave a presentation titled "Accountant Beyond the Accounting Firm: The World of Alternative Investment Asset Management Companies," introducing the alternative investment industry from an accountant's point of view. Drawing on his experience working at an accounting firm, Kwon explained how accounting expertise is applied in investment screening and asset management operations, as well as the business processes of alternative investment asset management companies.
The moderator for the special lecture, Kim Minseok, Director of the Center for Positive Impact under the Social Contribution Promotion Team at Maston Investment Management, led the overall program and gave a presentation on "The Social Responsibility of Asset Management Companies and the Operational Direction of the Social Contribution Promotion Team." Kim shared the mission of the Social Contribution Promotion Team to spread positive influence across the entire industry ecosystem, and outlined the direction of social contribution activities linked to the company's main business.
The event concluded with an introduction to the society by SRF Co-Presidents Kim Kyunghwan and Seong Daekyung. Under the theme "A Place for Real Estate Finance Learning: Introduction to Sungkyunkwan University SRF," they presented the current status and vision of the society's activities.
The Social Contribution Promotion Team continues to carry out a variety of social contribution activities, including talent donation special lectures for university societies. Recently, it co-hosted a disability awareness improvement program combining culture and the arts with the Miral Welfare Foundation. To further enhance the professionalism and systematically promote the sustainable creation of social value in its social contribution activities, Kim Hyoseok, Director of the 19th National Institute of Environmental Human Resources Development under the Ministry of Environment, was appointed as an advisor to the Social Contribution Promotion Team.
