Kim Yongman, chairman of the gimbap franchise Kim Kkane, who is accused of embezzling 600 million won of company funds, has been handed over to the prosecution.
According to the police on July 6, the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul referred Chairman Kim to the prosecution on June 15 on charges of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
Chairman Kim is accused of embezzling approximately 600 million won of company funds from January 2023 through last year.
The police believe that Chairman Kim personally used incentives and commissions paid by partner companies, including suppliers of food ingredients to Kim Kkane and interior construction firms.

Meanwhile, in May, Chairman Kim was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended for five years, for the attempted rape of a female employee while intoxicated.
