Building Employment and Start-up Skills on Film Sets... Dongseo University Partners with Film Forum
Global K-Culture Employment and Start-up Camp Held in Seoul
Expanding On-Site Film Industry Experience and Industry-Academic Cooperation
"We help students build their skills directly on film sets."
Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) has introduced a field-oriented program to enhance the employment and entrepreneurship capabilities of students in the film and visual arts sectors.
The Global K-Culture Convergence Talent Development Project Group at Dongseo University announced on July 6 that it recently held the "2026 Global K-Culture Employment and Start-up Camp" over a two-day, one-night schedule at the Film Forum, an art cinema in Seoul, and the Korean Film Museum. During this event, the university also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for business cooperation with the Film Forum.
This camp, organized as an extracurricular program to foster convergent talent for the global K-culture industry, was attended by over 60 participants, including students and graduates from the Department of Film, the Department of Visual Animation, and the Global K-Culture Convergence Interdisciplinary Program.
On the first day of the event, a screening of works by Dongseo University film students was held at the Film Forum. Current students, graduates, and, notably, members of the public attended the screenings. Afterward, a guest visit (GV) and networking session were held, allowing attendees to share their thoughts on the films and the production process.
Furthermore, the project group and the Film Forum agreed to cooperate through a business partnership, committing to support employment and entrepreneurship connections for current students and graduates, promote student portfolios, and build an employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem based on industry-academic cooperation.
Additionally, Jo Hyunki, a programmer who is active at the Seoul International Agape Film Festival and the Film Forum, delivered a special lecture covering topics such as the role of a film programmer, art cinema operations, content selection, and audience development strategies, thereby introducing practical work in the film industry.
On the second day, a program titled "Cut! And Career" was held at the Korean Film Museum, exploring the history and career paths in the film industry.
