Democratic Party Leads People Power Party Within Margin of Error
A public opinion poll has revealed that the decline in President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating, which had continued since the June 3 local elections, has come to a halt. However, the rebound in the president's approval rating was only slight, with the figure still remaining in the 40% range.
According to a poll released on July 6 by the polling agency Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy News and conducted from June 29 to July 3 among 2,525 adults aged 18 and over nationwide, using a 100% wireless telephone automated response method, with a margin of error of ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level), President Lee's approval rating rose by 0.5 percentage points from the previous week to 47.0%. With this, the president's approval rating ended a seven-week decline. The negative assessment dropped by 0.3 percentage points to 49.2%.

However, the increase was limited due to persistent negative economic factors such as falling stock prices and a high exchange rate."
In the party approval poll (commissioned by Energy Economy News and conducted on July 2–3 among 1,008 adults aged 18 and over nationwide, using a 100% wireless telephone automated response method, with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level), support for the Democratic Party of Korea rose by 2.0 percentage points from the previous week to 43.0%. Support for the People Power Party fell by 1.7 percentage points to 40.3%. The Reform Party stood at 3.0%, the Cho Kuk Innovation Party at 1.9%, and the Progressive Party at 1.6%.
Realmeter stated, "While support for the Democratic Party of Korea has risen for three consecutive weeks, support for the People Power Party has declined for three weeks in a row," adding, "For the third week, the two parties remain locked in a close race within the margin of error."
