Top 100 Vietnamese Brands See 11% Rise in Value... Viettel Leads for 11th Consecutive Year
Total Brand Value Reaches $43 Billion
Aviation Sector Shows Highest Growth Rate at 79%
The brand value of major Vietnamese companies has risen significantly this year. With strong growth in the aviation and healthcare industries, telecommunications company Viettel Group has maintained its position as Vietnam's top brand for the 11th consecutive year.
According to the "Top 100 Vietnamese Brands" report released on July 5 (local time) by UK-based brand valuation agency Brand Finance, the total value of the top 100 brands this year reached $43 billion (approximately KRW 6.58 trillion), an increase of 11% compared to last year.
Viettel Group ranked first in brand value, recording $7.9 billion (approximately KRW 12 trillion). The brand value increased by 7% year-on-year, maintaining its top spot for 11 consecutive years.
Viettel Group owns Viettel Telecom, Vietnam’s largest mobile carrier, and is a telecommunications and technology company with more than 100 million customers in 11 countries across Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Brand Finance evaluated that the continued growth of its core telecommunications business has driven the increase in brand value.
Dairy company Vinamilk ranked second, with a brand value of $2.6 billion (approximately KRW 4 trillion), supported by a recovery in domestic consumption and expansion into overseas markets. State-owned commercial bank Vietcombank maintained third place for another year, with a brand value of $2.5 billion (approximately KRW 3.8 trillion), up 7% from last year.
The combined value of the top 10 brands totaled $24.5 billion (approximately KRW 3.74 trillion), accounting for 56.9% of the total value of the top 100 brands.
By industry, aviation showed the most notable growth. The total value of aviation brands increased by 79% from last year, while healthcare rose by 76% and banking by 13%, respectively.
Electric vehicle ride-hailing company Green and Smart Mobility (Green SM) was selected as the most noteworthy brand this year, with its brand value estimated at $635 million (approximately KRW 970 billion).
