"Samsung Electronics Plans 20% DRAM Price Hike in Q3... Notifies Some Customers"
According to Chinese media outlet Yicai, which cited industry insiders, Samsung Electronics is reportedly moving to raise DRAM prices by approximately 20% in the third quarter.
On July 4 (local time), Yicai reported that, regarding expectations for Samsung Electronics' DRAM average selling price hike in the third quarter, an executive at a Chinese electronics manufacturer said, "It's true." The executive stated that they had already discussed the issue with Samsung Electronics last month and had received verbal notification from Samsung Electronics about the DRAM price increase. The executive also mentioned that the rise in DRAM prices could lead to higher prices for electronic products.
Another source in the industry confirmed these observations, stating that Samsung Electronics has already verbally notified some of its customers.
Samsung Electronics has not yet released an official statement regarding the DRAM price increase for the third quarter.
