KB Financial Narrows Down Next Chairman Candidates to Six
Yang Jonghee, Lee Jaekeun, Lee Changkwon, Lee Hwanjoo, Kwon Kwangseok, and Others
The list of candidates for the next chairman of KB Financial Group was narrowed down to six on July 3.
The Chairman Candidate Recommendation Committee of KB Financial Group (the Committee) announced that it held a meeting that afternoon and confirmed a shortlist of six candidates: four internal and two external.
The internal candidates are Yang Jonghee, current chairman of KB Financial Group; Lee Jaekeun, KB Financial Group division head; Lee Changkwon, KB Financial Group division head; and Lee Hwanjoo, CEO of KB Kookmin Bank (listed in alphabetical order). The external candidates are Kwon Kwangseok, former CEO of Woori Bank, and one other individual who requested anonymity.
The Committee plans to conduct first-round interviews with the six candidates on August 27, narrowing the list to three, and then select the final candidate through second-round in-depth interviews on September 11.
