Korea Zinc Onsan Smelter announced on July 3 that it had delivered a donation of 50 million won to the Ulsan Metropolitan City Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired through the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea.

This project is expected to contribute to improving the physical and psychological health of visually impaired individuals in the Ulsan region and to strengthening their self-reliance and emotional bonds within families.
The family function enhancement program consists of family counseling, parent education, and experiential activities. As part of the job capability enhancement program, education in baking, pastry, and barista skills will be provided, and employment opportunities will be linked for visually impaired individuals who have obtained relevant certifications. A health rights promotion program will also be implemented to support dental implant treatment costs for low-income visually impaired individuals.
Since 2018, Onsan Smelter has continued various social contribution activities to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities, such as providing computers, braille printers, and assistive technology devices. Recently, the company has been operating vocational training and various programs to promote family relationships, thereby supporting the economic and emotional independence of the visually impaired.
