[Breaking] Hyundai Motor Group to Invest 42 Trillion Won in Autonomous Driving and AI Manufacturing Innovation in Yeongnam Region
On July 3, Hyundai Motor Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for investment in fostering advanced industries in the Yeongnam region with several government ministries—including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance—as well as local governments including Busan Metropolitan City, Daegu Metropolitan City, Ulsan Metropolitan City, North Gyeongsang Province, and South Gyeongsang Province, during the "National Briefing on the Vision for Advanced Industry Development in the Yeongnam Region" held in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province.

Starting this year and over the next ten years, the group plans to invest 42 trillion won in the Yeongnam region. The investments will focus on advanced sectors such as the establishment of an AI manufacturing hub, construction of a future core component cluster, AI-based manufacturing innovation tailored to manufacturing, future aviation and space, and the development of sustainable energy infrastructure.
