Jisung Park to Lead K-Soccer Innovation...Appointed Co-Chair of the K-Soccer Innovation Committee
Co-chaired by Minister Choi Hwi-Young of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism
Youngpyo Lee and Park Jooho Also Join as Committee Members
Jisung Park, a member of the FIFA committee and a key player in South Korea's legendary advance to the semifinals at the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, will serve as co-chair of the newly launched "K-Soccer Innovation Committee" together with Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-Young.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 6th that it will launch the "K-Soccer Innovation Committee" at the Olympic Parktel in Seoul. The committee will be operated as a temporary organization aimed at reforming K-Soccer, with Minister Choi and Park acting as co-chairs.

View original imageIn addition to Minister Choi and Co-Chair Park, the committee is joined by soccer figures such as commentator Youngpyo Lee and commentator Park Jooho, as well as Yoosung Min, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, Kim Seunghee, Executive Director of the Korea Football Association, Cho Yeonsang, Secretary General of the K League, attorney Yoo Younggeun, Professor Kim Daehee, and other sports-related officials and experts.
The committee plans to comprehensively discuss key issues to enhance the future competitiveness of Korean football, such as improving K-Soccer governance, nurturing youth players, and introducing advanced technological systems, in response to the calls for K-Soccer innovation triggered by the 2026 North and Central America World Cup. The ministry also stated that Minister Choi Hwi-Young has recently met with various football officials and experts to share these concerns and gather diverse opinions.
Co-Chair Park said, "Through this innovation committee, we aim to address the various concerns that have consistently been raised in the field, design the future direction for Korean football, and create a sustainable future where K-Soccer can continue to grow."

Co-Chair Choi added, "I will strongly support the establishment of a vision for Korean football, led by trusted soccer professionals, and ensure that this vision can be practically implemented on the ground."
