Nexus B Raises 15 Billion Won in Series C Funding... Selects Samsung and Korea Investment & Securities as Underwriters
Nexus B, a Specialist in ALD Equipment, Raises a Cumulative 29.5 Billion Won
Begins KOSDAQ Listing Process, Targeting Late Next Year
Nexus B, a company specializing in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) equipment, has completed a Series C funding round totaling KRW 15 billion. The company has selected Samsung Securities and Korea Investment & Securities as lead arrangers to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) on the KOSDAQ market.
According to the venture investment industry on July 3, Nexus B secured an investment of KRW 11 billion last month from Kolon Investment, Shinyoung Securities-T Investment Fund, JX, and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea. Including KRW 4 billion invested last year by Korea Development Bank and KDB Capital, the total funding raised amounts to KRW 15 billion.
With this round, Nexus B’s cumulative investment has reached KRW 2.95 billion. From its early-stage funding through the Series A round in 2023, the company raised KRW 450 million, and during the Series B stage in 2024, it secured KRW 1 billion from L&S Venture Capital and Smilegate Investment, among others. Established in December 2015, Nexus B is a specialist in ALD-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Recently, the company has been expanding its business into sectors such as displays, energy, and secondary batteries.
The company is now embarking on preparations for a KOSDAQ listing. Recently, Nexus B appointed Samsung Securities as the lead underwriter and Korea Investment & Securities as the co-underwriter. Backed by its earnings growth, the company aims to enter the KOSDAQ market through a technology-based special listing in the second half of 2027. Depending on future circumstances, Nexus B may also proceed with a relatively small-scale pre-IPO round.
The funds raised will be used for research and development (R&D) and to drive sales growth. Founder and CEO Choi Hakyoung stated, "We have completed this funding round to expand our sales channels, including R&D costs, in semiconductors, solar power, displays, and secondary batteries," adding, "We will continue to broaden our industrial scope beyond semiconductors to include displays and secondary batteries."
