Earned $3 Trillion... "Is He Really the President?" Trump Sells Watches and Perfume
927-Page Financial Disclosure Report Filed
1.4 Billion Dollars Earned Solely from Virtual Asset Business
U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly made substantial profits through his personal brand business, which includes selling Bibles, perfumes, watches, and other items.
On July 2, Yonhap News reported, citing The Washington Post (WP) and the BBC, that President Trump declared over $2.2 billion (approximately KRW 3.42 trillion) in income last year in his 2025 financial disclosure report submitted to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE). This marks an increase of more than $1.6 billion compared to the roughly $600 million he reported in 2024, just before his return to office.
The report totaled an impressive 927 pages. Notably, President Trump generated approximately $1.4 billion in profits from cryptocurrency-related businesses alone. In addition, he earned significant income from real estate, licensing businesses, and the sale of various branded products.
First, President Trump made millions of dollars from so-called "Trump goods" branded with his name. He earned $208,000 from Bibles he promoted, $1.8 million from the photo book "Save America," and $67,000 from Trump-branded sneakers and perfumes. He also released a limited-edition guitar called "America Eagle," selling $36,000 worth to musicians with MAGA (Make America Great Again) leanings, who make up his core supporters.
Last year, President Trump also received $86,532 in pension payments from the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). He previously made a cameo appearance as a passerby showing the main character Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) the way in the 1992 film "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York." Additionally, he reported receiving $86.5 million in compensation from lawsuits filed against various media outlets.
Real estate continues to be one of his main sources of income. The Trump National Doral golf resort in Florida and his private estate and members-only club Mar-a-Lago recorded revenues of $122 million and $77 million, respectively. His wife, Melania Trump, earned $10.7 million from a documentary film produced by Amazon that bears her name.
Norman Eisen, who served as White House ethics counsel during the Barack Obama administration, told the WP, "This is by far the largest case of a president using the office for private gain in U.S. history," adding, "There has never been a time when a president sought to so thoroughly monetize the White House, while foreign governments and special interest groups were so eager to pay vast sums of money."
By contrast, the White House dismissed allegations of conflicts of interest. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated, "Neither the President nor his family has ever been, nor will ever be, involved in conflicts of interest," calling the related suspicions "tired and false claims."

On July 1, before boarding Air Force One, Trump commented to reporters about his increased wealth, saying, "It's because the stock market is rising," and, "Americans should thank me for the increase in the value of their retirement assets." However, the WP’s analysis of the financial disclosure found that stock investment gains accounted for only a small portion of his wealth increase, with most of the growth attributed to his expansion into cryptocurrency and personal brand businesses.
