During the event, BL PharmTech held partnering meetings with multinational pharmaceutical companies and global investment firms, and discussed the possibility of joint research and licensing out (L/O) of its main pipeline asset, the molecular glue degrader-based anticancer drug “ML301,” the company said on the 2nd.
According to reports, this year’s event saw significant interest from global companies in molecular glue degrader platform technology. BL PharmTech plans to continue follow-up discussions with multiple pharmaceutical and biotech companies to develop specific collaboration strategies.
BL PharmTech, which is receiving technology development support through a global pharmaceutical company's bioventure incubator program, held meetings with the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and Business Development (BD) representatives of the respective company.
The company reviewed the potential for technology transfer of BL PharmTech’s preclinical and early-stage clinical candidates. Both sides agreed to continue sharing updates on development progress and technical direction. Further discussions are planned at the U.S. headquarters in October.
Collaboration opportunities have also expanded with a global cancer-focused biotech company. The BD executive of this company expressed strong interest in BL PharmTech’s molecular glue degrader project, and both parties agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and conduct an in-depth review based on confidential data.
A French pharmaceutical firm also took note of BL PharmTech’s anticancer drug candidates, especially expressing high expectations for the potential development of a small molecule therapy for brain tumors. The two companies agreed to sign an NDA and share updates on development status, considering future out-licensing collaboration.
BL PharmTech also reported progress in building a business development network for global market entry. A U.S.-based drug development incubator and BD consulting company agreed to leverage its infrastructure and asset matching services to enhance BL PharmTech’s technology value and support the search for global partners. BL PharmTech plans to provide relevant data and begin full-scale partnership discussions after the convention.
Collaboration potential was also confirmed with a major UK investment firm and a global oncology-focused biotech company. The UK-based company indicated that it could provide support during the translational research stage prior to entering clinical trials by leveraging its clinical network in the UK. Both parties will share detailed data and review specific collaboration models after signing an NDA.
Opportunities for joint development with domestic new drug development companies are also increasing. As interest grows in molecular glue degrader-based pipelines that may yield synergistic effects when combined with existing anticancer drugs, BL PharmTech has received partnership proposals from Korean companies and plans to actively pursue related discussions.
