Song Younggil, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on July 1 that he "deeply agrees" with the themes of "unity, expansion, and achievement" mentioned during the luncheon between President Lee Jaemyung and former President Moon Jae-in.
That afternoon, Song wrote on Facebook, "I have seen the news about the luncheon between President Lee Jaemyung and former President Moon Jae-in," and added, "I am truly grateful for the remarks by the two Presidents, which have dispelled many of the concerns we have had."

Song further commented, "The Democratic Party is the ruling party responsible for the entire Republic of Korea. I believe the way to answer the requests of both Presidents is to become a 'true ruling party' by achieving results through unity and expansion, and proving ourselves through those achievements."
