Kia Sells 295,720 Vehicles in June... Achieves All-Time High First-Half Sales
Sportage, Seltos, and Sorento Lead Sales
Electric Vehicle Sales Surpass Last Year's Figures
Kia announced on July 1 that it sold 295,720 vehicles in global markets in June, marking a 9.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
The Sportage was the brand’s best-selling model globally with 54,058 units sold, followed by the Seltos with 35,007 units and the K4 with 22,373 units.
In the domestic market, Kia sold 54,508 vehicles, an 18.5% increase year-on-year.
The Sorento was the top seller domestically with 8,561 units. The passenger car segment saw 12,367 units sold, including 4,159 Ray, 3,150 K5, and 1,981 K8 units. The RV (recreational vehicle) segment, led by the Sorento, included 6,685 Seltos, 6,267 Carnival, and 6,176 Sportage units, totaling 37,131 vehicles.
The commercial vehicle segment recorded sales of 5,010 units, with 2,531 Bongo III and 2,349 PV5 sold.
Overseas sales reached 240,259 units, up 7.6% from the same month last year. The best-selling overseas model was the Sportage with 47,882 units, followed by the Seltos with 28,322 units and the K4 with 22,373 units.
For special-purpose vehicles, Kia sold a total of 953 units: 473 domestically and 480 overseas.
Notably, Kia achieved its highest-ever first-half sales record since it began selling automobiles in 1962. In the first half of the year, Kia sold a total of 1,630,988 vehicles: 295,779 domestically, 1,332,473 overseas, and 2,736 special-purpose vehicles.
The previous record for first-half sales was set in 2025, with 1,587,536 vehicles sold: 276,423 domestically, 1,309,016 overseas, and 2,097 special-purpose vehicles.
The best-selling models in the first half were the Sportage (303,203 units), Seltos (177,148 units), and Sorento (125,283 units).
Additionally, Kia set a new record by selling 72,078 electric vehicles domestically in the first half of the year, a 151.1% increase from 28,706 units in the first half of 2025. This figure also surpassed the total annual domestic electric vehicle sales of 60,820 units in 2025.
The EV3 was the top seller among electric vehicles with 18,431 units sold, followed by the EV5 with 15,965 units and the PV5 with 15,000 units.

A Kia spokesperson stated, "Thanks to strong sales of electric and hybrid models both at home and abroad, we achieved record first-half sales. In the second half of the year, we will continue to expand sales with a tailored regional strategy focused on our full lineup of electric vehicles and SUV hybrid models."
