Busan Port Authority Distributes Cooling Supplies to Over 1,300 Port Workers to Prevent Heat Illness
Cooling Headscarves and Arm Sleeves Provided
for North Port and New Port Workers
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) has begun supporting port workers at Busan Port to help them cope with the summer heat ahead of the peak hot season.
Busan Port Authority announced on July 1 that it has provided heat illness prevention supplies to over 1,300 port workers working at Busan Port's North Port and New Port.
Port cargo handling sites are considered challenging summer work environments due to the radiant heat from the concrete ground, which lacks shade, and high humidity that increases the perceived temperature. Ensuring the safety of port workers who work outdoors for extended periods has also become an important task.
