After greeting bus drivers, he boarded a city bus with local residents and traveled to the Ui-gyo bus stop. By personally using public transportation during the morning commute, he aimed to experience residents’ daily lives firsthand and observe public livelihood issues in the field.
Afterward, Mayor Kim moved near Ssangmun Station, where he held a meeting with environmental officers to listen to the challenges faced by field workers. He stated, “A clean city is made possible thanks to the dedication of those sweating on the frontlines,” adding, “I will continue to pay close attention to creating a safe working environment and improving working conditions.”
Mayor Kim then visited the district’s Disaster and Safety Control Room and the integrated CCTV monitoring center to inspect the summer disaster response system. He checked the management status for responding to heavy rains and various safety incidents and called for thorough preparedness.
Lastly, he visited the site in San 68-47, Dobong 1-dong, where a landslide prevention project had just been completed. Between March and June, a total of 222 million won was invested here to install check dams and maintain water channels. Mayor Kim personally inspected the construction status and safety measures for the rainy season.
At the field site, Mayor Kim issued his first directive to staff. He said, “There is no administrative task more important than safeguarding the lives and safety of our residents,” emphasizing, “The 9th Dobong District administration should be a field-driven, prevention-centered administration that starts on site. Please always prioritize the lives and safety of our residents above all else.”
