Wonhee Lee, Formerly of Coupang and Samsung Electronics, Appointed as CTO of Goodoc
Carelabs, a digital healthcare platform specialist, has strengthened its leadership by appointing key executives for both the company and its subsidiaries in order to enhance its business competitiveness and secure new growth engines.
On July 1, Carelabs announced that it has appointed Jiwoong Kim, formerly of Amazon and Toss Bank, as its Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), while Goodoc has brought on Wonhee Lee, who previously worked at Coupang and Samsung Electronics, as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The company aims to bolster the competitiveness of its healthcare business and accelerate technology-driven service innovation by securing leadership with expertise in strategy and technology.
Jiwoong Kim, CSO of Carelabs, is a strategy expert with around 20 years of experience in business strategy and new business development at major domestic and international companies such as MBC, Amazon, SK Telecom, and Toss Bank. Leveraging his experience in business planning and growth strategy across various industries, he will oversee Carelabs' mid- to long-term strategies and the identification of new business opportunities. In particular, he will establish the foundation for growth in new businesses led by Carelabs, including senior care, and drive business expansion.
Wonhee Lee, CTO of Goodoc, is a technology expert who has developed and operated large-scale platforms and server systems for about 18 years at leading Korean IT companies such as Coupang, Samsung Electronics, and Samsung SDS. He will oversee the operation of Goodoc's technology organization, focusing on upgrading platform architecture, enhancing service stability, and improving development productivity. He also plans to focus on building an AI-native organizational structure to expand AI-based healthcare services.
CSO Jiwoong Kim stated, "Carelabs has ample potential to grow into a healthcare company that connects the entire health journey throughout life. We will strengthen the competitiveness of our existing businesses while identifying new business areas and expanding strategic opportunities to build a foundation for sustainable growth."
CTO Wonhee Lee commented, "We will enhance our technical leadership by building a stable service operation system and a highly scalable technology environment, while also transforming into an AI-native organization to deliver hyper-personalized medical experiences optimized for each individual user."
Carelabs plans to advance its platform competitiveness by integrating the data accumulated by its key subsidiaries, Goodoc and Babitalk, with AI technology. In the long term, under its 'One CareLabs' vision, the company aims to build an integrated healthcare ecosystem by linking and expanding its services.
