Essential Medicines Used for the Treatment of Severe and Emergency Patients
Samjin Pharmaceuticals has begun supplying "Samjin Lorazepam Injection," a national essential medicine and withdrawal-prevention drug, to establish a stable supply system for essential medicines.
On July 1, Samjin Pharmaceuticals announced the launch of "Samjin Lorazepam Injection." This injectable formulation containing lorazepam is used for the treatment of severe and emergency patients, including preoperative sedation, pediatric convulsions, and status epilepticus (prolonged epileptic seizures). It contains the same ingredient and formulation as "Ativan Injection," which has been supplied to medical institutions previously.
To ensure the stable supply of lorazepam injections, Samjin Pharmaceuticals worked with relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, obtaining approval to change the manufacturer and establishing its own production and supply system.
National essential medicines and withdrawal-prevention drugs are crucial for patient treatment, yet supply instability may occur due to factors such as profitability. Therefore, securing a stable production base is important. Through this supply initiative, Samjin Pharmaceuticals aims to contribute to stabilizing the supply of essential medicines needed in medical settings.
Samjin Pharmaceuticals currently supplies other essential medicines, including "Samjin Diazepam" for emergency treatment of status epilepticus, and "Samjin Nimodipine," a treatment for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
