[Click eStock] "KNS Expected to Benefit in the Era of Physical AI and Dark Factories"
KNS is attracting attention as a company expected to benefit from the transition to physical artificial intelligence (AI) and dark factories. As it expands its unmanned business portfolio into various industries such as secondary batteries, robotics, and semiconductors, expectations are rising for an increase in new orders.
On July 1, Choi Seunghwan, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., stated, "KNS is diversifying its unmanned business, focusing on the secondary battery, robotics, and semiconductor industries," adding, "The company's differentiated technological capabilities are translating the benefits of the shift to physical AI and dark factories into real order momentum."
KNS possesses the nation’s top-level CAM (a mechanical device that converts rotational motion into vertical movement) technology and has established unrivaled competitiveness in the cylindrical battery cap assembly sector. By integrating deep learning-based AI vision technology, KNS is evaluated as being capable of achieving full automation of the entire production process, from raw material intake to final packaging.
Researcher Choi added, "The joint venture, Jongrui Korea, has begun mass production of key 46mm battery components for Company T. Going forward, we expect related order volumes to expand in line with the commercialization of humanoid robots."
He continued, "The KNS headquarters supplies automated production equipment to major advanced sensor companies such as SOS Lab, specializing in LiDAR; Haesung Optics, a camera sensor company; and Smart Radar System, a radar technology company."
The subsidiary, Eunseong FA, is also cited as a growth driver. Eunseong FA has established a leading position in the domestic PCB and FPCB pin insertion equipment market and is recently expanding the supply of high-value-added equipment, particularly in the automotive electronics, semiconductor, and data center sectors.
Notably, Eunseong FA’s core technologies are being applied in the production of IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) components supplied to major U.S. automakers, raising expectations for growth amid increasing demand.
Researcher Choi also provided a positive outlook on KNS’s earnings. He said, "Given the current order backlog of approximately KRW 40 billion, a lead time of about six months, and the possibility of additional orders in the third and fourth quarters of this year, we expect revenue for the year to increase by 45% year-on-year to KRW 59.8 billion, with operating profit turning positive at KRW 6.5 billion."
