Namuga Selected as Camera Partner for French Drone Company Parrot
Namuga, a company specializing in 3D cameras, announced on June 30 that it will be the exclusive supplier of situational awareness and obstacle detection cameras for the 'ANAFI USA' series by Parrot, a leading French drone manufacturer representing Europe.
Namuga will exclusively supply the initial batch of situational awareness cameras to Parrot's flagship ANAFI USA model, as well as its next-generation ultra-lightweight model designed for enhanced mobility. Namuga plans to provide a total of four cameras per drone, enabling precise environmental awareness and obstacle avoidance while minimizing power consumption.
The ANAFI USA is a high-end drone designed for emergency response and enterprise use, and has received approval under the Blue sUAS (Small Unmanned Aircraft System) program—the highest security standard for small drones set by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) under the U.S. Department of Defense. In addition to the Blue sUAS certification, Parrot has also been adopted as the official tactical reconnaissance drone for the British Army and the European Defence Fund (EDF), thereby strengthening its position in the global defense and security sector.
This supply agreement is a key achievement amid the global drone market's push to establish a "China-free supply chain." Passing the Blue sUAS certification requires the exclusion of Chinese-made components and software. This is why Namuga, a Korean company with proprietary optical technology and mass production capabilities, was chosen as the exclusive supplier.
Namuga has already established an immediate mass production system through several months of collaboration and testing and is set to begin mass production and delivery in the second half of this year. In addition, Namuga is discussing the integration of an ultra-high-resolution 200-megapixel camera into Parrot's next-generation development model, with the goal of finalizing supply by the end of 2027.
