YMC Executives, Including CEO Lee Yoon-yong, Acquire 34,000 Shares on Market: "Confident in Future Growth"
YMC, a company specializing in semiconductor and display materials and components, has expressed its confidence in corporate value enhancement and future growth through its management's purchase of treasury shares.
YMC announced on June 30 that key executives—including CEO Lee Yoon-yong and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Park Jung-geun—have collectively purchased 34,000 shares on the open market.
CEO Lee Yoon-yong personally purchased a total of 30,000 shares in two separate transactions, while CFO Park Jung-geun additionally acquired 4,000 shares on the open market. As a result, CEO Lee, the largest shareholder, increased his ownership stake by 1.02 percentage points to reach 33.51%.
The company explained that this purchase by the management team demonstrates their commitment to the company's growth potential and to enhancing shareholder value.
A YMC representative stated, "This share purchase reflects the management's confidence in the company's future growth and potential for increased corporate value. Even amid rising internal and external uncertainties, we are strengthening our foundation for growth in new semiconductor businesses. We will do our utmost to grow alongside the market based on responsible management."
YMC is engaged in the business of manufacturing materials and components for semiconductors and displays. With the recent expansion in semiconductor demand, the number of etching processes is increasing, and demand for silicon carbide (SiC) recycling is also expected to continue rising.
The company plans to reinforce its capabilities in semiconductor components based on its existing business competitiveness, and further solidify its growth foundation at the group level.
In fact, its mid- to long-term growth strategy is already producing results in the global market. In May, YMC officially received a purchase order for three new semiconductor component types, including edge rings, from a U.S.-based global semiconductor equipment manufacturer. The company subsequently completed final quality verification and delivered its initial batch of products.
This supply contract is seen as significant because it marks YMC's entry into the official supply chain of a global semiconductor equipment manufacturer beyond the domestic market. The company emphasized that, by supplying three new components requiring advanced process technology simultaneously, its precision machining technology and quality competitiveness have been recognized globally.
A YMC representative said, "Supplying new products to a U.S. global equipment manufacturer is an important milestone in expanding our semiconductor sales proportion and growing our presence in the global market. We will continue to broaden our portfolio of high-value-added products based on our proven semiconductor component manufacturing technology and accelerate our efforts to secure global clients."
