First Film Adaptation of the Attempted Assassination of the First Lady
Production and distribution company Hive Media Corp announced on June 30 that the film "Assassin(s)," which is based on the attempted assassination of the First Lady on August 15, 1974, will be released during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
This mystery thriller is the first film adaptation of a shocking true story from modern Korean history. Director Hur Jin-ho, known for works such as "The Last Princess" and "Forbidden Dream," is at the helm. He collaborated with cinematographer Lee Mogae, known for "12.12: The Day" and "Exhuma," and lighting director Lee Sunghwan.

Yoo Haejin plays Cheol-gu, a detective who witnesses the incident and questions the official investigation; Park Haeil takes on the role of Jae-hwan, a newspaper editor who pursues the truth despite pressure; and Lee Minho portrays Young-il, a rookie reporter who throws himself into danger.
