View original imageAccording to Yonhap News on June 29, the Suwon Gwonseon Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that the National Forensic Service conducted a detailed analysis of the urine sample from Mr. A, who is under investigation for violating the Narcotics Control Act, and found no traces of drugs.
Mr. A was urgently arrested on June 23 after a preliminary drug test by the police showed a positive reaction for methamphetamine. However, he was released the next day after the National Forensic Service's first preliminary analysis came back negative, and the police continued their investigation without detaining him.
As the recent detailed urine analysis also did not detect any drug substances, the police are investigating the cause of the initial positive result from the preliminary test. A detailed hair analysis, which can reveal drug use from several months ago, has also been requested from the National Forensic Service.
So far, the police investigation has reportedly found no particular evidence to suggest that Mr. A used drugs. The police plan to comprehensively review all findings, including the results of the hair analysis, before concluding the investigation.
Previously, videos showing Mr. A standing for an extended period with his back bent and his arms hanging down in the Gwonseon District of Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, were circulated on SNS and online communities. The video sparked controversy as suspicions of drug use were raised.
