[Weather] Seoul’s High Reaches 33°C... Heat Wave Advisory Issued for Capital Area
On Tuesday, the 30th, the heatwave will continue, and scattered showers are expected in many inland areas.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the forecasted daytime highs for major cities are as follows: Seoul 33°C, Incheon 30°C, Chuncheon 32°C, Gangneung 26°C, Daejeon 33°C, Daegu 32°C, Jeonju 31°C, Gwangju 31°C, Busan 26°C, and Jeju 27°C.

View original imageFor the time being, daytime highs will be similar to or slightly above the seasonal average. As of 10 p.m. the previous day, a heat wave advisory was issued for the Seoul metropolitan area and southern Sejong. In many inland regions, daytime highs will rise to 30°C or higher, with maximum perceived temperatures expected to reach 31–33°C, resulting in hot conditions.
From the afternoon, showers are expected in Seoul and Gyeonggi inland areas, Gangwon inland and mountainous regions, Chungcheong inland, eastern Jeolla inland, and northern and southwestern Gyeongbuk inland areas. Hail and thunder and lightning are also possible in these regions.
Expected precipitation amounts are as follows: 5–40 mm in Seoul and Gyeonggi inland, Gangwon inland and mountains, Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam inland, Chungbuk, and eastern Jeonbuk. In eastern Jeonnam inland, as well as northern and southwestern Gyeongbuk inland, around 5–20 mm of rain is expected.
