Naver Pay Launches 'Smart Pass' Facial Recognition Departure Service at Incheon International Airport
"Fast Passage Through Incheon Airport Departure Hall and Boarding Gates"
Naver Pay announced on June 29 that it has launched 'Smart Pass,' a facial recognition departure service at Incheon International Airport.
Smart Pass is a service that allows users to quickly pass through security checkpoints and boarding gates using facial recognition if they pre-register their facial information, passport, and boarding pass. The service can now be conveniently accessed via the Naver Pay (Npay) app.
Any Korean national aged 7 or older can use the service. After the initial Smart Pass registration in the Naver Pay app, users only need to register their boarding pass prior to departure to use the service. In particular, convenience has been enhanced by linking with 'FaceSign,' the facial recognition entry and authentication service. For Naver Pay users who have already registered for FaceSign, only the passport and boarding pass need to be registered. Legal guardian consent is required for users aged 7 to 14.
Once registration is complete, users can pass through the dedicated Smart Pass line at Incheon International Airport's departure hall and certain boarding gates operated by participating airlines, including Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Air Seoul, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air, and Jin Air, without needing to take out their passport or boarding pass, simply by undergoing facial recognition.
