Government Employees Pension Service Strengthens Personal Information Protection...Obtains Certification
Information Security and Personal Information Protection Management System (ISMS-P)
The Government Employees Pension Service announced on the 29th that it has obtained the Information Security Management System and Personal Information Protection (ISMS-P) certification.
The ISMS-P certification is a national certification system based on the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and the Personal Information Protection Act. The certification is granted after a comprehensive review to determine whether a series of measures and activities for information security and personal information protection by the applicant organization meet the certification criteria. The certification is overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
The organization is working to enhance the security of its information systems, which are operated in the course of its core operations such as pension services, accident compensation, and housing projects, and to safely protect customers' personal information. This includes operating a dedicated information security team, strengthening its cyber threat detection system, and promoting information security awareness activities.

Kang Seokjoo, Head of the Cyber Safety Center at the Government Employees Pension Service, stated, "In an environment where digital transformation and the use of AI are expanding, information security and personal information protection are core values in the operation of the institution." He added, "We will continue to improve our management systems and strengthen our security capabilities so that we can become a public institution that earns greater trust from our customers and the public."
