Hansung Clean Tech Rallies on Expectations of Gains from Expanded AI Semiconductor Investments and Honam Plant Projects
Hansung Clean Tech, a company specializing in industrial water treatment and ultrapure water (UPW) EPC, is experiencing a sharp rise in its stock price amid expectations of benefiting from increased investment in AI semiconductors.
As of 9:09 a.m. on June 29, Hansung Clean Tech was trading at 1,910 won, up 19.95% from the previous day.
Recently, Hansung Clean Tech announced that it had secured a contract to install an ultrapure water (UPW) system for the P5 semiconductor plant project in Pyeongtaek. The contract is valued at approximately 22.2 billion won and is a follow-up project to the previously awarded contract for the installation of the P5 Green Wing wastewater treatment system.
According to market analysts, as global semiconductor companies ramp up their production capacity (CAPA) with a focus on AI semiconductors and high-bandwidth memory (HBM), demand for semiconductor process infrastructure such as ultrapure water and wastewater treatment facilities is rapidly increasing.
In particular, recent reports that Samsung Electronics and SK hynix are considering building large-scale semiconductor production facilities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions are further boosting interest in semiconductor water treatment EPC companies. If such investments materialize, the market for ultrapure water and wastewater treatment facilities is also expected to expand further.
