Launched in 2023 with seven companies, the K-AI Alliance has grown into a consortium of 50 member companies now covering the entire AI value chain, including AI semiconductors, infrastructure, models, and applications. More than 35% of member companies are headquartered overseas, including in the United States, Singapore, and Japan.
Starting this year, SK has transitioned management of the K-AI Alliance from SK Telecom to the SK AI Committee under the SK SUPEX Council. In line with this, the company also unveiled a mid- to long-term strategy, 'K-AI Alliance 2.0,' aimed at strengthening cooperation among member companies and supporting global business expansion.
The core of K-AI Alliance 2.0 is to support joint technology development and business verification (PoC), new service discovery, and global customer acquisition between SK group affiliates—such as SK Telecom, SK hynix, and SK AX—and Alliance member companies. Regular programs will also be operated in Japan, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia to help member companies attract overseas investment and expand their businesses internationally.
The event was attended by about 60 people, including Youngsang Yoo, Chairman of the SK AI Committee, officials from SK Telecom and SK hynix, K-AI Alliance member companies, global venture capital (VC) firms, and representatives from major big tech companies such as AWS. The agenda included keynote speeches on AI investment and technology trends, investor relations presentations by member companies, and panel discussions on AI industry bottlenecks and the outlook for the AI semiconductor industry.

Youngsang Yoo, Chairman of the SK AI Committee, stated, "We are in an era where it is difficult for a single company to secure all competitive advantages in the AI industry independently. Through continued expansion of membership and strengthening of our global network, we aim to develop into the leading global AI ecosystem platform sought after by investors and big tech alike."
