"How Were Sales Yesterday?" AI Responds Instantly... Restaurant-Focused AI Is Transforming Store Operations
Control-M’s ‘RestoreGenie’ Specializes in Restaurant Operations
‘TeorderAI’ Surpasses 45,000 Cumulative Transactions
Artificial intelligence (AI) solutions focused on the restaurant industry are transforming management environments for eateries. Whereas previous AI solutions for food service mainly concentrated on generating sales—such as optimizing search, exposure, advertising, and automating ordering and payment—recent advancements have expanded AI’s role to supporting efficient store operations. The achievements of related AI companies are also becoming tangible.
On June 28, AI foodtech company Control-M announced that Amoje Food, a restaurant operator with 30 years of experience, and the coffee franchise About have adopted 'RestoreGenie.' RestoreGenie is a dedicated AI operations platform for foodservice business owners that integrates store management data—including POS, advertising, accounting, workforce, and manuals—into a single system. When a store owner asks, “How were yesterday’s sales?” the AI responds, and every morning, it provides a briefing summarizing the previous day’s sales and key issues. For franchise operations, headquarters can monitor the operational status of all stores on a single dashboard, and branch-by-branch profit and loss closing, which used to be handled manually each month, is now processed automatically.
Control-M cites its specialized restaurant industry data as a key competitive advantage for RestoreGenie. For example, the platform’s workforce management features natively support complex labor regulations, such as statutory limits on wage deductions for lateness under the Labor Standards Act. Jongkwan Won, CEO of Control-M, stated, “The demand to entrust even in-store management to AI is only just beginning,” adding, “By standardizing decision-making on the ground with AI that understands the language of the restaurant business, we aim to become an operational infrastructure that grows alongside the platform ecosystem.”
'TeorderAI,' introduced by table order company Teorder, is also regarded as an AI solution that helps optimize restaurant operations. TeorderAI is an actionable AI agent service that allows small business owners to directly request operational tasks—such as registering banner images, editing menu images, or changing set menu configurations—within the KakaoTalk channel, and the AI immediately applies these changes to the store system. Previously, such updates, including menu changes or marking items as sold out, required going through the customer support center, but now they can be handled directly at the store.

In particular, there is strong user response as business owners can simply enter commands in the KakaoTalk chat window they use daily, without the need to learn a separate system or app, and the AI takes care of store operations. The cumulative number of automated tasks processed has surpassed 45,000. The solution also stands out from typical chatbots or customer service centers. Unlike chatbots, which require input in a specific format, TeorderAI responds immediately to natural, conversational requests. One business owner using TeorderAI commented, “The function I wanted most was the ability to update new menu items or mark items as sold out directly from the store, and using TeorderAI has solved that pain point. Not only can I easily analyze my sales, but I can also quickly identify areas where my shop needs improvement through the provided statistics.”
