A New Landmark for West Coast Tourism
A 17-kilometer premium walking trail showcasing the hidden beauty of Hwaseong’s west coast has finally been unveiled. The 'Hwaseong Golden Coast Road,' which stretches from Jebudo through Baekmi Port to Gungpyeong Port, features a marine deck that gives the feeling of walking on water, the sunset over the West Sea, and picturesque views of tidal flats and fishing villages. This trail is expected to emerge as a new landmark for tourism along the metropolitan area’s west coast.

The name ‘Golden Coast Road’ was inspired by the spectacular sight of the setting sun turning the waves of the West Sea golden. With this opening, Hwaseong has completed a ‘marine content belt’ that connects the key hubs of marine tourism along the metropolitan West Coast.
The entire route is divided into three sections, depending on visitors’ purpose and skill level.
Section 1, the 'Sunset Scenic Route' (5.0 km), runs from Jebu Marina to Songgyo-ri. Walking along the breezy coastal road and reaching the 0.3-kilometer marine deck at sunset, visitors can face the red sun setting beyond the horizon head-on.

At high tide, seawater surges beneath the deck, while at low tide, expansive tidal flats and salt fields offer a unique charm found only on the West Coast.
Section 3, the 'Gungpyeong Tourism Route' (7.5 km), extending from Baekmi Port to Gungpyeong Port, is distinguished by its elegantly curved 1.8-kilometer marine deck combined with modern resort facilities, creating an exotic atmosphere. With new marine tourism infrastructure recently developed, demand for overnight stays is also anticipated.
Hwaseong City has also started expanding transportation and convenience facilities to accommodate the expected increase in visitors. Since last month, the 'Golden Coast 01·02' village buses have been operating early, circulating between the Seohaerang Cable Car, Jeongok Port, Jebudo, and Gungpyeong Port. Parking capacity has been secured for over 1,600 vehicles at eight locations, including temporary parking lots. Public restrooms have also been distributed across 12 locations.
