The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on June 26 that Jin Bongheon, an attorney at the Jeil Law Office, has been appointed as the governor of South Hamgyong Province in the Five Northern Korean Provinces.
Choi Myeon, an honorary professor in the Department of Biomedical Health Science at Kangwon National University, has been appointed as the governor of North Hamgyong Province. The governor positions for the Five Northern Korean Provinces are at vice-ministerial level.
The newly appointed governor of South Hamgyong Province, Jin, is a former judge and has worked as an attorney at Jeil Law Office. He has also served as a legal advisor to Jeonju City Council and Gimje City in North Jeolla Province.
