It was belatedly revealed that comedian Jinho Lee (39), who is facing charges of illegal gambling and drunk driving, has been indicted without detention.
According to Yonhap News on June 26, the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor: Yoo Sun Lee) indicted Lee without detention on May 29 on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and habitual gambling.
Lee is suspected of participating in illegal gambling multiple times and spending large sums of money by using illegal online gambling sites since 2020.
In October 2024, he confessed via his social networking service (SNS) that he had engaged in illegal online gambling since 2020. He also revealed that he had received financial help from acquaintances during the gambling process and was under a significant amount of debt.
The police investigation began after a request for investigation concerning Lee was filed through the national civil complaint portal.
Lee is also suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol for about 100 kilometers from Incheon to his residence in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, in the early morning of September 24 last year.
At that time, Lee's measured blood alcohol concentration was 0.11 percent, which exceeds the license revocation standard of 0.08 percent. He admitted to drunk driving during the police investigation.

Meanwhile, on April 1 this year, Lee collapsed at home due to acute cerebral hemorrhage. He regained consciousness after nine days and is currently undergoing treatment.
