Seungjun Yoo, Who Gave Up on Returning to Korea, Says "Still Angry" Over Loss to South Africa
Video on Instagram: "Working Out Out of Frustration Over Football"
Korean-American singer Seungjun Yoo (Steve Yoo) expressed his disappointment over South Korea's loss to South Africa in the national football team's recent match.
On June 26, Seungjun Yoo posted a video on his Instagram showing himself working out intensely at the gym, writing, "I'm not working out because I'm angry about the football match. I always let off steam at the gym. But seriously, is advancing to the round of 32 now out of reach?"
Previously, Seungjun Yoo had uploaded a short video of himself wearing the Korean national team uniform while watching the Group A opening match of the North and Central American World Cup group stage between South Korea and the Czech Republic.
On the previous day, South Korea lost 0-1 to South Africa in the third Group A match of the North and Central American World Cup group stage held in Monterrey, Mexico. Now with one win and two losses (three points), South Korea must wait and see the outcomes of other group matches to determine their chances of advancing.
Earlier, on June 12, Seungjun Yoo posted a short video on his YouTube channel, wearing the South Korean national football team uniform and watching the "2026 North and Central American World Cup" match between South Korea and the Czech Republic. At that time, he commented, "I've experienced a lot in my life, but one thing has never changed," adding, "No matter what anyone says, I always support South Korea."
Meanwhile, on June 4, Seungjun Yoo posted a video on his YouTube channel titled "I've done enough. Now I'm thinking of stopping," saying, "At this point, entering Korea doesn't hold much meaning for me. I've let go of a lot regarding those issues."
