He continued, "I opened my clinic at age 33, and about a year after opening, I started living as a wealthy person." He elaborated on his definition of wealth, saying, "Being wealthy is when you can eat at a restaurant without having to worry about the price when deciding whether to eat or not."
He went on to say, "I started from zero," recalling, "During my first year as an intern and four years as a resident, I only earned enough for transportation and meals." He added, "After opening my practice, I worked 365 days a year, not even taking Sundays off. I lived like that for 10 years."
Harm Ikbyung identified "a clear goal" as the key to success. He stated, "You need to set your objective precisely," and emphasized, "If your goal is money, you have to pursue money. If you want to become wealthy without focusing on money, it's impossible to become wealthy."
He said that growing up in a poor environment was also a driving force for him. He explained, "When you have deprivation and set a goal, you naturally work hard to overcome it," and revealed, "I worked without holidays for 10 years, from my 30s until age 45."
Harm Ikbyung introduced laser skin scaling to Korea in 1995, which generated significant profits. He currently owns assets worth around 10 billion won, including apartments and other properties.
Regarding his investment principles, he said, "Aside from real estate and savings, I never put money into anything I cannot control," and added, "Rather than investing in stocks or Bitcoin, the things I prepare and execute for 10 years carry less risk."
He also offered practical advice for office workers considering starting a business. He said, "There is no company that pays enough for employees to become wealthy just from their salaries," and concluded, "If you want to make money, you will eventually have to leave your company."
However, he cautioned against quitting recklessly, advising, "You should prepare for your business while still working at your company," and suggested that benchmarking successful cases is a way to reduce risk.
