Insurance Institute to Hold Underwriter Certification Exam in September
Held on September 12 in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, and Gwangju
The Only Nationally Accredited Private Qualification Exam in the Insurance Industry
The Insurance Institute announced on June 26 that the 33rd Insurance Underwriter Certification Exam will be held simultaneously in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, and Gwangju on September 12.
According to the institute, the underwriter certification exam is the only nationally accredited private qualification exam in the insurance industry.
The exam is divided into two categories: personal insurance underwriter and corporate insurance underwriter. Not only insurance industry professionals, but also the general public are eligible to take the exam.
Since the exam was introduced in 2010, a total of 32 sessions have been held twice per year. A total of 9,171 candidates have successfully passed.
According to the institute, measuring both theoretical and practical knowledge across all sectors of non-life insurance contributes to fostering practical experts in the insurance industry. Many non-life insurance companies designate the results of this exam as a requirement for promotion.
Applications can be submitted individually via the institute’s website from August 11 to August 20. The list of successful candidates is scheduled to be announced on October 1.
The institute also stated that it operates a regular monthly online education program to help candidates prepare for the exam.
