Up to 80mm of Rainfall Expected in Inland and Mountainous Areas of Gangwon
On Friday, June 26, showers are expected in many parts of the country, accompanied by gusty winds, thunder and lightning, and hail, so caution is advised.
In the central region, the sky will be mostly cloudy but will gradually clear up from the morning. The southern regions and Jeju Island will see mostly cloudy skies.
In the afternoon, showers are expected in various inland and mountainous areas of southern Gangwon, northern North Chungcheong, North Gyeongsang Province (excluding the east coast), as well as inland areas of Ulsan and central and eastern South Gyeongsang Province.
The expected precipitation is 5 to 20 millimeters for inland and mountainous areas of southern Gangwon, northern North Chungcheong, inland and northeastern mountainous areas of Daegu and North Gyeongsang, as well as inland areas of Ulsan and central and eastern South Gyeongsang.
Inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, where showers may continue until dawn, could see rainfall totals reaching up to 80 millimeters in some places.
Strong gusts of wind and hail may accompany the showers, so extra caution is necessary.
The morning low temperatures are forecast to range from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 2.5 meters on the East Sea coast, 0.5 to 1.0 meters on the West Sea coast, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters on the South Sea coast.
